Islington cuts

Islington residents face the council cutting £51 million pounds from its budget (25%) over the next three years. Front line services wii be devastated, the voluntary sector will be all but wiped out. Playgrounds, youth services and old people's homes face closure. School meals are to be replaced with sandwiches.

On 3rd November, UNISON, other town hall unions and community groups demonstrated outside the town hall. They were addressed by Liz Davies and Jean Geldhart from the UNISON national executive.
