The Women of Srebrenica

Two members of the Women of Srebrenica will be arriving in Britain on 16th November for a two-week speaking tour. The Women of Srebrenica are calling for the right of return to their home town, and for the right to bury their dead there. Nearly two years after the Dayton Agreement which “guaranteed” the right of return, they, like hundreds of thousands of other refugees, are unable to go back to their homes which lie within Serb nationalist territory.

The Women of Srebrenica need financial help towards their tour expenses. £2,000 is needed for flights, visas, food and travel in Britain and accommodation. You can send donations directly to Unity Trust Bank Branch No. 08-60-01, Account no. 20042967 “Women of Srebrenica Tour Committee”. Make cheques payable to “WSTC”.

Draft itinerary: London — November 16th, Brighton — November 19th, Birmingham— November 20th, Leicester — November 21st, Nottingham — November 22nd, Bradford — November 24th, Manchester — November 25th, Liverpool — November 26th, Middlesborough/Newcastle — November 27th, Edinburgh — November 28th. There are regular meetings of the committee organising the tour. Call Alison Snape on 0181-444 6285 for details.
